MacRumors forum member guigsh has posted an image of upcoming iPhone 5 which he claims is “real” and saw the device for about 2 minutes. The device has a thinner profile than the current iPhone 4 model, resonating with earlier claims that the fifth-generation iPhone handset could be just 7mm in thickness.
“Picture taken yesterday in the office of a French operator. Believe it or not,” the forum member said. He continued in a separate post, “We were able to see it only 2 minutes, pictures forbidden of course, so, we did our best.” As far as details about the device itself are concerned, guigsh added, “The only thing I can tell you, is that my iPhone 4 looks really slow now.”
The leaked image ties in perfectly to the Chinese knockoff of iPhone 5 that appeared recently. As predicted earlier, it is possible that someone from Foxconn got a prototype and sneaked out digital blueprints or model to those who counterfeit iPhone models in China. Via [BGR]
